Charity Knitting - Knitting for Orphans

Dear Warm Woolies Friends,

Warm Woolies has decided to cease operating at the end of 2009.

Warm Woolies has always relied on relationships with international adoption agencies and international relief efforts to distribute our pieces overseas. Over the past year, due to matters beyond our control, these agencies and efforts are no longer able to distribute our pieces. Without these distribution channels, we are no longer able to fulfill our mission of providing children around the world with warm clothing.

We have posted answers to questions you might have below. We will update the information on our website, so please check there if you have questions. If your question is not answered there, please email us through the website. We will respond as quickly as possible.

I cannot thank you enough for your generous contributions to Warm Woolies these past eight years. We have accomplished tremendous things. At last count, we had distributed over 35,000 knit pieces to children around the world who needed warm clothing.

Lands’ End:

The Lands’ End project is not affected. Please return finished pieces by December 14, 2009 as planned. These pieces will all be distributed to children on tribal reservations within the United States. We will mail holiday letters on December 18 as scheduled.

10 for 10 by 2010:

The deadline to send in pieces for the 10 for 10 contest remains November 30, 2009. We will mail prizes the first week of December.

Unfinished Projects:

If you have projects that cannot be finished in time to send to Warm Woolies by December 24, 2009, please find them other suitable homes.

Fundraising Sales:

The fundraising sales we had scheduled for November 21 and December 6 are cancelled.

Yarn Requests:

Please do not request yarn.
If you requested yarn between November 7and November 15, we will contact you about returning your shipping money.
If you have Warm Woolies yarn from an earlier request, please send finished pieces to arrive at Warm Woolies no later than December 24, 2009. Please keep unfinished pieces and unused yarn.

In order to cease operating by year’s end,
Warm Woolies will not accept packages after December 24, 2009.
