While the vast majority of pieces we receive are lovely, we consistently encounter problems in a few areas. Please read this list to help avoid them.
- If you are knitting socks, please be sure they are both the same size.
- If you are knitting sweaters, please be sure the armholes are large enough to accommodate a child wearing layers of clothing. Armholes that are too small make a sweater uncomfortable, or worse yet, unwearable.
- If you are knitting sweaters or vests, please be sure the head opening will comfortably accommodate a normal child’s head. As a point of reference, an average 3 year-old’s head is 20”. The neck opening for a three year-old’s sweater needs to easily stretch to at least that size.
- If you are knitting a baby blanket, please make it large – about 40” on the short side. Blankets can’t be too large or too thick; they can be too thin or too small.
